Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Do I need a referral from a physician to start physical therapy?

A. No. Through the “Direct Access Law”, patients in New Jersey can be seen by a licensed physical therapist without a prescription or referral from a physician.

Q. I do not have an injury, but I want to optimize my performance and improve my physical health. Can I still work with you?

A. Yes! We are happy to evaluate you and address your concerns with a personalized approach.

Q. Do you accept Medicare?

A. We do not have a relationship with Medicare, so we cannot treat Medicare beneficiaries at this time. If you need recommendations for other physical therapy clinics to utilize your Medicare benefits, we are happy to discuss this with you. However, we do offer wellness visits that Medicare beneficiaries can claim under their non-covered services. Contact us for additional details.

Q. What is manual therapy?

A. Manual therapy is often mistaken for a massage. Manual therapy is defined as “skilled hand movements and skilled passive movements of joints and soft tissues.” It encompasses a variety of techniques utilized by physical therapists to restore healthy function and motion of soft tissue structures. These techniques include joint mobilization, soft tissue manipulation, cupping, instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization, and dry-needling.

Q. What equipment do I need to have?

A. All essential physical therapy equipment will be brought by the physical therapist to each session.

Q. What is your cancellation policy?

A. As a courtesy to other patients trying to get scheduled, we require a 24-hour minimum notice for cancellations due to emergencies or illnesses only. A $50 fee will be billed upon violation of this policy.

Q. I live outside of central NJ. Is there any way I can still work with you?

A. We do occasionally travel further distances. We also provide virtual sessions. Please call to inquire.
